Anxious

July 8, 2009

Countdown begins …

I AM SO NERVOUS!

LGTA LGTA LGTA LGTA LGTA LGTA …

You will be the only thing I think about for the next three weeks.

加油!

This is probably a good time to update. I just had rice + corn soup, two mini buffalo sandwiches from Jack-in-the-Box, and a regular chicken sandwich. To top it off, my left calf is in pain meaning I can’t run tonight. So being the gross, fat sass that I am, I’ll post tonight.

Having last week off was probably one of the best things I’ve done for myself this year. Being able to relax, hang out, eat out, while still running at night was so refreshing! I think I saw my closest friends from high school friends everyday that week … it was ridiculous but in an awesome way! Places I ate at last week: Souplantation, Cafe Firenze, Cafe Rose, Yogurtland (twice!), Diddy Reese, Father’s Office, MILK. Countered that by running 15.2 miles in a week! Some photos:

Thursday.

Best pasta ever. Butternut squash ravioli. My original choice … which turned out to be Allen’s dish. He copies everything that I do!

Elaine’s strawberry shortcake was also delish!

THREE more weeks until you get updates from Elaine and I from the East Coast. We can’t wait!!!

Things to look forward to this week: opera (possibly?), wisdom tooth taken out by John, and 7-mile run on Sunday. Summer, you’re the greatest!

Now … MORE HOUSE!

sometimes, a girl just wants a boy to talk to.

SMOKIN’ HOT.

July 1, 2009

I love summer.

Perhaps it’s a good sign that I haven’t been blogging. Must mean that I’m busy … living life! I’m on my first week of vacation since January and it has been wonderful so far. I cannot stop stressing how much I love sun and warm weather. Finally, I get to wear my short shorts (and hell, I have legs for it now from all that running) and tank tops. Oh, I am going to soak up every moment of this.

The best part of summer is the ability to hang out with my friends from home again! Last weekend, I met up with Henry Marr and his friends at Disneyland where they attempted to give me the full Disney experience by adventuring in the park from 9:30 am til 1 am. It was completely EXHAUSTING … never in my life have I felt so tired before! I haven’t seen Henry in half a decade so it was just like old times to be able to catch up with him and throw our old science jokes around. I can’t wait for him to come back in August!

Today, I started to teach my dad how to use the computer that I bought him and my mom for their Father’s and Mother’s day present. I’m rather surprised at how quickly my dad is picking up some of this stuff; it must mean I’m a good instructor! Ha. I hope that’s the case because I have an intern on my team next week! I better get my act together or at least pretend like I know what I’m talking about. : ) Anyway, this afternoon, Ken, Allen and I met up at the mall to watch Transformers 2 which turned out to be a pretty good movie! It was good to see Allen as I have not seen him in over a month. He tries to ignore me at all costs when he’s home. HA. You can run but you can’t hide! BESTIES FOR LIFE. Anyway, Ken, Allen, Judy and I are going to Fabio’s Cafe Firenze tomorrow in Moor Park in hopes of meeting the Top Chef contestant! Then, shopping at Camarillo for aviators! HOT.

Rest of the week:

Friday – brunch and west side adventures.

Saturday – bbq at my house!

Sunday – Father’s Office w the boys, Judy and Elainey?

Caroline Ikeji (10:37): you weird hot loving woman

Too Fallen.

June 26, 2009

And in just two years,
She lives a coming-of-age tale,
Growing up so quickly only to meet
Failure
Face to face
And to
Run hopelessly from Disillusion,
Who still managed to steal her dreams away.

Yet,
With cosmo in hand and a stripped down beauty no one can deny,
She finds ways to fill the gaps in this chapter with adventures -
Formerly empty pages now plastered with photos of vibrant faces
On the beach, on the bus, at the club, at the park.
Final destination?
She flirts with the possibility of New York,
Anywhere but here.

But it’s been so long
That she’s grown afraid -
While laughing at love in bold defiance,
She tightens these bandages that cover the wounds which never seem to heal.
So open and honest she seems,
But permission to get close is always denied.
She worries:
Please don’t get too attached,
Too vulnerable,
Too fallen.

Best friends, reunited.
