Caroline Ikeji (10:37): you weird hot loving woman

Too Fallen.

June 26, 2009

And in just two years,
She lives a coming-of-age tale,
Growing up so quickly only to meet
Failure
Face to face
And to
Run hopelessly from Disillusion,
Who still managed to steal her dreams away.

Yet,
With cosmo in hand and a stripped down beauty no one can deny,
She finds ways to fill the gaps in this chapter with adventures -
Formerly empty pages now plastered with photos of vibrant faces
On the beach, on the bus, at the club, at the park.
Final destination?
She flirts with the possibility of New York,
Anywhere but here.

But it’s been so long
That she’s grown afraid -
While laughing at love in bold defiance,
She tightens these bandages that cover the wounds which never seem to heal.
So open and honest she seems,
But permission to get close is always denied.
She worries:
Please don’t get too attached,
Too vulnerable,
Too fallen.

Best friends, reunited.

WHO WANTS TO WATCH IT WITH ME?

BEST LOVE STORY EVER. I love the book!!

I had too much tea tonight at tea station, hence the 3 a.m. post.

My family and I attended David’s graduation today at UCLA (pictures will be posted tomorrow). I still can’t believe he’s graduated and will be getting his master’s at UCI next fall. Even my older brother is thinking of getting his MBA after his fellowship. Ah, we’re all going back to school aren’t we?

It’s been a great day, filled with lots of family and friends. I’m currently listening to Jay Chou’s “The Secret” soundtrack and my heart is aching, just ACHING, for LGTA. Ugh … it needs to happen now. I’ve been looking through the facebook profiles of friends I met four years ago while studying in Beijing and it just warms my heart thinking of all the good memories. I’m really hoping to meet up with some of them this year.

Alright, I’ll head to bed now with happy thoughts.
